The Association's achievements over the past 25 years can be summarized in the following five points:
1- The average age of patients has increased from 8 years to 24 years.
2- Reducing the number of new thalassemia births to approximately zero per year, out of 70 cases.
3- Improving the quality of health services for patients by adopting a treatment protocol and establishing specialized treatment units and training doctors and health service providers for patients in cooperation with the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
4- The availability of blood with special specifications, such as fresh blood, and the regular availability of blood in cooperation with the central blood bank.
5- Empowering patients by addressing their health, psychological, and social needs, and launching the Youth Council for Thalassemia Patients
Through its membership in Thalassemia International and the Arab Thalassemia Associations Forum, the association seeks to generalize the pioneering Palestinian experience at the level of the Arab world.
