Al-Bireh | Thalassemia Patients Friends Society held its annual general meeting yesterday, Saturday, at Al-Farouq Hall in the city of Al-Bireh.

The meeting, which exceeded the quorum, was attended by a number of young patients and their families from various governorates, in addition to a number of interested people and professionals in Thalassemia sector.

The meeting began with the welcome of the administrative body represented by Dr. Bashar Al-Karmi, President of the Society, who in turn praised the collective work witnessed by the Assembly and the successive qualitative shifts, the latest of which was the establishment of the Arab Forum for Thalassemia Socites. Al-Karmi also called on the members of the General Assembly to engage in the work and programs of the Society and urge patients to engage in active interaction that reflects positively on their health and social reality.

Later, Sister Jihad Abu Ghosh presented the administrative report and Dr. Ihab Shukri the financial report, and after receiving inquiries and a number of interventions, the two reports were approved by a majority.

At the end of the meeting, Al-Karmi reiterated his thanks to the attendees for incurring the trouble of travelling from the governorates, hoping to raise the mechanisms of communication with the branches and coordination of activities in the different governorates.
