Thalassemia Patients Friends Association launches its plan for the current year
The Association has developed strategies to implement this plan by raising the level of health services provided by the Ministry of Health to the patients, by providing secure blood continuously, and work to raise awareness in the community in order to prevent the disease.

The Association of Friends of Thalassemia Patients has launched its annual plan for the current year, which includes the start of applying its vision of Palestine free of thalassemia, under the slogan "Palestine free of new thalassemia patients". Palestine will become the first country in the Arab world free of Thalassemia patients and the second after Cyprus worldwide.

The Association has developed strategies to implement this plan by raising the level of health services provided by the Ministry of Health to the patients, by providing secure blood continuously, and work to raise awareness in the community in order to prevent the disease.

The Secretary of the Friends of Thalassemia Patients Jihad Abu Ghosh said that "by raising the level of health services provided to patients with thalassemia, the average age of Thalassemia patients in Palestine has increased from 8 to 18 years in the last two decades. This necessitates the provision of educational and rehabilitation opportunities for patients with Ensuring an independent social and economic life ".

In cooperation with the Palestinian Center for Human Development and Development (PCHR), the Association held a training course in Ramallah on the promotion of mental health in patients with thalassemia.

"The course seeks to empower and build the capacity of patients to become effective leaders in the community and to develop the skill of patients in communication and communication of the importance of this skill in their personal and social life in order to reach them to how to deal with others," explained Mona Abu Shamt.

Abu Ghosh added that this session is based on the interest of highlighting the youth leaders of Thalassemia patients in the Palestinian society by strengthening the concept of mental health in patients and their ability to promote many different areas of life.
